Claire Lomas can Walk on Own; Exoskeleton Robotic Suit Helps Her a Lot

A British Woman while horse riding met an accident after which she got paralyzed from the chest down. She was unable to walk on her own since then. For the first time, a robotic exoskeleton was offered for home use and this lady was the first lucky person to use it every day. However, such bionic exoskeletons are used in hospitals and rehabilitation centers also.

During the beginning of this year, with the help of this robotic exoskeleton, Lomas even took part into a human cause. She completed the London Marathon in 17 days, and succeeded in raising funds worth 200,000 pounds
($317,900). She donated this amount for researching over spinal damage.

Recently, Lomas was even given the chance to beam the Paralympic cauldron in Trafalgar Square. Now she is happy enough to stay busy. She prefers to have more such activities in her routine.

As mentioned by her "One of the best experiences was standing at a bar. To be stood up in this means everything to me". When Larry Jasinski, the chief executive of Argo Medical Technologies, the company that was behind the development of this robotic suit, got to know about Lomas backing the marathon using this suit, he was quite confused and nervous about it. But then he was pretty happy to know that it did perfect even in the nastiest weather conditions.
