New measures are needed to make sure that patients suffer no problem during their stay at Scunthorpe General Hospital, says a report. The investigation was being commissioned by the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG), which runs three hospitals, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole.

The trust appointed a firm known as Transforming Health Ltd and asked to carry out a detailed investigation in the hospital. Stephen Ramsden, who has handled the position of NHS Chief Executive Officer, led the investigation.

After preparing the report, he has put forth some of the recommendations that can be used by the hospital to improve its condition. Some of the valuable tips being provided by him were to train staff as well as develop policies that aim to provide quality services to patients.

Not only this, he has also asked that staff members should form cordial relationship with patients. For doing so, they should have one to one communication with them. So, that patient can discuss all the problems with staff and a timely solution can be found out.

Dr. Liz Scott, the Medical Director, was of the view, “This is an issue for the whole health community and we are working hard within the Trust, with our colleagues in primary care”.
