As another death takes place due to Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) in Sudbury, the state health official have warned people to take all the possible precautions against the mosquito-borne disease.
Scott Sgorbati is the latest victim, who has fallen prey in the hands of the disease. It has been found that he was being admitted in the hospital on August 14, 2012 and on Tuesday, he lost his life. Official data has revealed that in total, three people have lost their lives due to the same.
Though state officials have been talking great pains to ensure that the disease does not spreads, it seems that they need to take out some more strict measures. Dr. Harry Chen, who is the Vermont Health Commissioner, was of the view, “It can lead to life-threatening illness for about a third of all people infected. So while exposure is extremely rare, it is a very serious illness”.
