A new study has put a majority of Victorians at higher health risks following the fact that they feast heavily on sugary treats and processed food but do not initiate to do enough exercises thereby putting themselves at higher risks of heart disease.
Above study has been referred to as the biggest ever study ran over Victorians' health till now. The findings of the study also revealed several severe health risks in quite a big number of young people too, who it said are having high cholesterol, which is again an important risk factor to trigger heart disease issues.
In context to same, the Health Monitor Report has also confirmed that more than three quarters of Victorians aged 55-75 are presently having high cholesterol and thus they are at higher risks of developing heart disease.
In Australia heart problems are considered as the number one killer and so has the officials urged people to restrict their eating habits of saturated fats and foods with higher salt content because they believe that such food products are playing an important role in triggering the situation.
“Our love affair I suppose with eating and consuming processed foods which is high in saturated fat and salt is actually increasing our risk of heart disease and I think that's what's quite alarming”, said Heart Foundation Victoria Chief Executive Ms. Kellie-Ann Jolly to reporters on Thursday.
