Video Sharing Sites Can Be Dangerous For Kids

Teenagers and young adults are more likely to mimic what they assume to be adventurous. But when they are exposed to stunts of the sharing sites, parents and guardians should be very careful. It has been found that a large number of teenagers find it thrilling to copy the moves seen on the YouTube.

It has been reported that a boy of more than 15 years old tries to mimic a stunt that took his life. The boy was so inspired by a video called ‘the choking game’ that he decided to mimic the scenes. While he was busy in mimicking the scenes of the video he got breathless and succumbed to death.

While alarming the parents about the threat of kids mimicking the stunts Dr. Thomas Abramo said that parents need to be aware of what their kids are surfing on the internet. Dr. Thomas Abramo from Vanderbilt University Medical Center said, "If you get one kid doing it, you tend to see more kids doing it”.

It is not for the very first time when a kid has tried to mimic a stunt. Every year, a number of kids are hospitalized with fractures because of mimicking stunts.
