A case of so-called medical malpractice has come forward recently to the sight of all with the filing of the case by a U. S. Army veteran against the Federal Government in U. S. District Court in Kentucky on Tuesday.
The case has been filed by Mr. Michael Nash, who has sued the Federal Government in his files and looks forward to seek $10 million US from the federal government on the charges of medical malpractice by a nurse, who repeatedly put ice packs on his penis after his surgery, which caused him frostbite and gangrene and ultimately led to his organ’s partial amputation.
Mr. Nash, 61, underwent a penile implant and circumcision procedure in the Veterans Administration hospital in Lexington in 2010. After his surgery, a nurse packed his groin in ice for 19 hours resulting in the amputation of 127 millimetres of his penis, his attorneys said.
"It basically caused frostbite on his penis, which eventually caused gangrene”, attorney Larry Jones said. "In addition to robbing someone of their manhood, they’ve robbed him of the simple ability to urinate just like every other person who lives in this world”.
Attorney Jones added that Mr. Nash has to undergo a reconstructive surgery to allow him to urinate normally. A decision is still awaited from the court.
