Climate Change started 200 Years Back

As per a recent study, it has been revealed that climate change began some 200 years ago when the Roman Empire and Han dynasty was in existence. The research, which has been published in the journal Nature, has revealed that increased methane can be due to the act of deforestation.

Lead author Celia Sapart from Utrecht University was of the view that when deforestation was being done to clear the land for farming then a lot many weapons were being used, which could have led to the rise in methane.

Sapart was of the view, "When we do future climate predictions we have to think about what is natural and what did we add. We have to define what is really natural”. The study findings are said to be challenging the U. N. opinion, which says that the climate change has started around 1800.

In order to reach at the above given conclusion, the study researchers from the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States and France, studied the rise in methane from Medieval times. It was then found that the climate change has started occurring some 200 years ago.

Climate change is one of the hottest topics across the globe these days. There is a need to take steps to reduce the same.
