Bali bombing, which had become breaking news in October 2002 after thousands faced injuries and deaths, had made a number of victims suffer severe burns as well. A recent report has revealed that Burns specialist Dr. Fiona Wood helped in healing pain of many of them.
As per the report, she made a ground-breaking development, a spray, which helps in treating burns. The spray has been dubbed ReCell spray-on skin treatment, which has been applied by many of the survivors.
The treatment is very close to release across the world. Sadly, the commercialization of the same has till date been a hard toil. Stock-exchange listed Clinical Cell Culture Ltd. uses patient's cells for a regenerative process and minimizing scars, it reintroduces skin pigmentation.
It has been told that years have been spent making efforts, which could help the spray pass through the US Food and Drug Administration snags. But, only a progress has been realized and Europe is using it increasingly.
"It was just fascinating that ten years on from the establishment of Clinical Cell Culture, the technique was being used by many other surgeons, now in the hundreds", said Dr. Wood, the 2005 Australian of the Year.
Independent studies have shed light on the fact that there has been climbing rate of deaths in Kenyan hospitals.
