It has been recently revealed by the Advertising Standards Authority that they have received a complaint in which a GP has said that a website named as Breastlight website has been making fake claims about its product.,

The GP was of the view that he was going through the advertisement of the product, which stated that the product named as Breastlight is quiet effective and more than 80% of women appreciates the same for its breast cancer detection tool.

As soon as he read the same, he registered a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority. It was found that the website has been making fake claims about breast cancer detection. In return the Advertising Standards Authority initiated an investigation in which it found that though the GP was right about the first claim, but rejected the second claim, which read that it helps in raising awareness about the cancer.

The authority was of the view that the website has proved that it has helped in raising awareness of the same. An ASA spokesman was of the view, "Because we had not seen robust substantiation that Breastlight could detect problems earlier we concluded the ad was likely to mislead”. The website officials did not comment on the matter.
