Connection of brain and cockroach might seem to be a bit strange, but a recent revelation has found that there is a connection. It has been recently revealed in a research that a Chinese fossil has been found, which has showed that evolution of brain in arthropods.

While discussing the evolution of the brain, it was also being revealed that arthropods came into existence some 540 million years ago and with the passage of time, their brain also started improving.

The study, which has been discussed in the Journal Nature, has said that the fossil was found in China’s Yunnan Province. Researcher Graham Budd from Uppsala University was of the view that they found a three inch long fossil arthropod, which was being named as Fuxianhuia protensa.

“The fossil provides the most convincing, and certainly the oldest, description of nervous-system tissue in a fossil arthropod”, said Budd. While talking about the evidence in regard to brain advancement in arthropods, Budd was of the view that they have found traces of iron-rich minerals in the brain of fossil.

Further revelation was of the view that according to their assessment, it has been found that the arthropod lived some 290 million years ago.
