Mars rover dubbed Curiosity, sent by NASA to have a detailed study of the red planet, has this time scooped up dirt from the planet's surface, as per a new report. The agency says that the next now being looked for is learning about the soil's make-up.
Some of the scientists are wondering that the bright-colored objects that are present in the solid may be man-made. Since, the two-and-a-half month old mission has sent a picture of a scoop hole, which is there in the Martian soil. And a previous object was identified as plastic.
While on the other hand, a few analysts say that these objects probably are only indigenous to Mars. In the meanwhile, the bright spots are being called as schmutz by NASA members, the report says.
The US space agency has told that analysis of the objects as well as the soil would be conducted with the help of the Chemistry and Mineralogy (CheMin) instrument. It has been found that the instrument has been outfitted deep in the belly of the car-sized itinerant.
"This instrument gives us a more definitive mineral-identifying method than ever before used on Mars: X-ray diffraction", affirmed John Grotzinger from Pasadena's California Institute of Technology.
A bigger-sized meteor crashed into the moon in March. This resulted in the ignition of an explosion so much brighter that anyone who is looking at the sky at the right time will spot it.
