Egg Freezing is Beneficial, Say Researchers

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine has set new guidelines on Monday, which claim that the women who are not in a mindset to have a baby at present and are worried if they could be able to conceive one later, need not worry any longer.

According to recent reports, the technique of freezing eggs from ovaries has been found to be practical. Therefore, a woman does not require undergo chemotherapy or radiation, which might leave them infertile in the long-run.

More than 100 studies were analyzed on egg freezing, known as cryopreservation, by the organization representing infertility specialists and researchers. And as per the team's say, there was not even a single evidence that the DNA within the egg is damaged by the process.

It is being said that even structural problems are not realized, which are feared to cause diminished chance of pregnancy or birth defects. In fact, the eggs studied were discovered to be viable nearly by 97% when these were softened.

The panel further says that insurance companies may from now on probably cover egg storage with $12,000 price tag. However, they warn that women should not undergo the procedure just with the purpose of childbearing delay, or else the procedure would not be covered by insurance.
