Extinction of the Polar bear has stirred debate among lawyers. Recently, the lawyers of Alaska appealed to the court regarding the delay in listing the Polar bear. The lawyers have alleged that the government has not yet listed the Polar bear.

Because of the melting icy habitat of the Polar bear, they were deemed to be extinct. From time to time, researchers have been raising concerns over the extinction of the Polar bear. Since 2008, the researchers have been asking the government to list the polar bears. However, it seems like the government has been taking up the issue quite lightly.

Continuous climate changes have further put the safety of the Polar bears at stake. Steven Amstrup from Polar Bears International said, "That was one of the great discoveries that allowed us to continue to instill hope in people that we could do something. you don't do anything. So this was a really important find".

In 2010, a study found that the melting ice of Arctic is causing a threat to the lives of Polar bears. The findings of the study were published in the journal Nature. It hoped that the initiative taken up by the researchers will help in ensuring the safety of the endangered species.
