US-Russian Crew to Soon Join Members aboard ISS

Recent reports have subjected that soon a new US-Russian crew will embark on its mission to the orbiting space station.

The scheduled date for the launch of the Soyuz rocket, carrying a crew of three in the Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft, has been declared to be October 23.

Further details suggest that the rocket will be will launched from the Central Asian spaceport of Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for a two-day mission to the International Space Station.

It has been reported that the capsule will be carrying American astronaut Kevin Ford and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Evgeny Tarelkin. The space shuttle is scheduled to reach ISS on Thursday, where already three astronauts are coordinating currently.

Ford, who will be boarding his second spaceflight, asserted that he is looking forward to this mission. On the other hand, in case of Novitskiy and Tarelkin, it is their first trip to space.

Ford, a veteran NASA space shuttle pilot, said, "For me this is a very new adventure, launching from Russia and launching aboard a Soyuz. The Soyuz is an amazing spacecraft".

Mentioning regarding Novitskiy and Tarelkin, Ford affirmed that he was pleased to have them aboard for the first time and riding the space capsule to ISS.
