It has been reported that a pharmacy, Infusion Resource, has been shut down in Massachusetts over the safety concerns. The pharmacy willingly surrendered the license to the Bureau of Health Care Safety and Quality.

It has come to light that the members of Bureau of Health Care Safety and Quality conducted a surprise inspection over the working of the pharmacy. During the inspection, it was found that the medications were being produced at the pharmacy in unhygienic condition.

It has not been made public as to what kind of errors was found in the manufacturing of the medicines at the pharmacy. However, no case of contamination was found during the inspection. Recently, the New England Compounding Pharmacy was also shut down for causing an outbreak of meningitis. Till now, about 25 people have succumbed to death because of the meningitis.

The New England Compounding Pharmacy has been shutdown and its employees have also been laid off, adding to the growing unemployment rates. Yet another 25 pharmacies in Massachusetts are causing concerns to the government as the inspection has not been adequate in these pharmacies. It is believed that the warnings will be issued to the pharmacies that are performing poorly.
