Malvern Instruments has entered upon an agreement with Affinity Biosensors, a recent report has revealed. The same would probably prove to be an extension of the solutions' range offered by the materials characterization company in Malvern, UK, to the biopharmaceutical sector.
The report finds that the aim of the agreement is to get the Archimedes Particle Metrology system distributed. Malvern would be distributing the system, which has been manufactured by the Biosensors in Santa Barbara, CA, USA, via its European and Asian subordinates.
Not only the USA and Canada, but all areas outside the two would also be covered by the agreement. It is being said that this may help the company develop a co-marketing arrangement with North American North America.
The Resonant Mass Measurement (RMM) technique is used by Archimedes to detect and count particles. Also, the same helps in determining their mass and size with accuracy and high resolution. Archimedes had won the R&D100 Award in 2010 and the Pittcon Editors Gold Award too.
"We are very pleased to be involved with this exciting new technology and to be adding it to our growing range of solutions for biopharmaceutical researchers", affirmed Business Development Director for Malvern Duncan Roberts.
