Russia's Phobos-Grunt Coming Back To Earth Soon

It has been reported that a satellite of Russia, which was sent to Mars, might hit back on earth on 15th of January. The Russia's Phobos-Grunt was launched on 8th of November, however, soon after reaching earth’s orbit it failed to fire the rocket.

Space law attorney Michael Listner noted that there is a lot more to be done so that the aim of reaching to mars could be achieved. It has been informed that for the creation of Phobos-Grunt an investment of $163 million was made.

After launching the space craft in the space, the European Space Agency and NASA transmitters tried to establish contact with the spacecraft but no response was received. Last month, the mission was announced to have failed.

Previously, thirty aircrafts or missions have failed to reach mars. It seems like Mars is creating mysteries for the astronomers as whenever they try to reach the plant something somehow does go wrong.

However, the failure of the mission has not shattered the moral of researchers. Now they will be using the experience to launch yet another spacecraft to Mars. This time there are hopeful of accomplishing the mission.

However, Phobos-Grunt would be coming back to earth safely. It has been informed by the scientists that the spacecraft’s aluminum fuel tank holding 8.3 tons of toxic fuel would burn while making a re-entry on earth.

The satellite after coming back to earth might land anywhere from 51.4 degrees north latitude, about as far north as London, to 51.4 degrees south latitude, nearly as far south as the tip of South America.

The catching video of the spacecraft has been captured by Satellite sleuth Thierry Legault. It has been informed that video has been captured from the Calern Plateau observatory above Nice in the French Riviera.
