Space X Cancels Dragon’s Launch

It has been revealed recently that Space X would not be launching its new space mission Dragon Capsule on the initial planned day, February 7. It is said that Dragon capsule which has to travel from Cape Canaveral to the International Space Station has been delayed for further improvements.

The work is going on, and the NASA would decide its next launch date, said Space X. The company’s spokeswoman Kirstin Brost Grantham said that in coming dates, they have a lot of work to do for this project. And, they believe that additional work would increase the chance and safety of the mission.

The launch date is expected to be somewhere in the end of this month, said Grantham. She said that if they would be able to successfully take Dragon to the NASA outpost then it would be their first commercial vehicle.

They do not want to do anything in haste and would only launch Dragon at the time when the vehicle is ready. The company’s experts found that Dragon needed some more engineering improvements. So they delayed the launch date.

Grantham said, "We are now working with NASA to establish a new target launch date, but note that we will continue to test and review data. We will launch when the vehicle is ready”. She further affirmed that they have been working on this project for more than one year. If this mission gets successful then it would be their first commercial success.

It is not the first time that they have delayed rocket missions. Earlier also, they have delayed Falcon 9 rocket journey and not for once but they did it twice. Grantham said that calling off the launching of Falcon 9 was also related to some safety reasons.
