It has been unveiled through a latest report that Erin Brockovich, who is an environmental activist, has started his latest research to find the cause of a mysterious disease in teens of New York. A number of cases of the inexplicable ailment have been discovered in teens living in Le Roy, a parish in New York.

The report has revealed that the disease still unknown has caused some common symptoms in teenagers of the town, which include facial tics and verbal outbursts. It has been found that families were worried, which led them to contact Erin Brockovich for looking and investigating the matter.

The environmental activist Erin told the reporters that several families of teenagers having the disease along with similar symptoms came to her. They urged her to examine the issue and find what kind of a disease their children are suffering from.

Ms. Brockovich has begun the investigation as she found the evidence that a toxic chemical spill had caused water and ground contamination in the area some 40 years ago and she suspects that it might be the only cause of the symptoms seen in teens.

She told that she was dishonored by many when a movie starring Julia Roberts was released in 2000 that was an attempt in order to expose a toxic chemical cover-up in California. And now on people’s requests, she is again making an effort and studied federal reports of 1970, which shed light on the fact that cyanide and trichloroethene, an industrial solvent, were spilled during a train derailment and 12 girls were found to have neurological symptoms. The reason of ailment is not known as yet, but is being believed to be the toxic chemical splattered in the environment.

"We don't have all the answers, but we are suspicious. They have not ruled everything out yet. The community asked us to help and this is what we do", she said.
