Addenbrooke's Hospital Grapples With Norovirus Cases

It seems that it would take some more time before the scar of norovirus could be get rid-of. This was being believed after it was told that there is significant rise in number of cases of norovirus in a Cambridge hospital. The situation has gone to the extent that as many as 47 operations had been postponed at Addenbrooke's Hospital to attend to the rising winter vomiting bug.

While the cases got registered, authorities concerned could be found taking all possible measures to get things managed. There were words of caution sent to those who are visiting to meet their near and dear ones. There is need to beef up the security measures so that concrete action can be taken to contain the rising cases of the norovirus.

However, the authorities are quite aware about the inconvenience caused by the temporary arrangements being made to cater to the rising cases. "It has been necessary for us to take these steps to ensure we can continue to deliver a safe, high-quality service to those in need of urgent and emergency care", said a spokesman for Addenbrooke's Hospital, who admitted that there is significant rise in demand for beds.

It was confirmed that a respiratory ward and two medicine-for-the-elderly wards are being shut down in consequent to the outbreak. The authorities have requested people to limit their visiting hours to shove off the risk and even children are requested not to bring in the hospital.

There is need for people to maintain a level of hygiene to keep the risk of norovius away. Moreover, people are being advised to remain vigilant to the symptoms of the disease so that it could be attended in the best possible manner. However, authorities have assured that they would be adopting all possible steps to keep the rising cases of norovius under control.
