While the controversy surrounding the flawed PIP breast implants could reduce the number of cosmetic procedures, recent report from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) showed all in all a different picture. The report showed that there was a consistent rise of 6% in the total number of cosmetic procedures done in Britain last year.

Among all the most preferred procedures, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, breast reduction, face or neck lifts, and nose jobs were found to have been among the top five. However, women were told to me more inclined towards getting their looks changed with cosmetic operations. It is necessary for women to get all the desired information related with whatever cosmetic operations they want to go through beforehand.

It has been known that French government had advised many women who had the flawed breast implants to get them removed or replaced as soon as possible. Though not many were seen going for it, it was told that there were many who found some suspected health concerns due to the same. It is being believed that it might take some time more for people to realize that such breast implants must be get rid of soon.

It has been told that the French company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) though has been closed down, it was found that there are some glaring concerns related with the implants getting ruptured. It is necessary for all those suspected women to get themselves checked so that risk could be averted in the first place.

“We may not see a very large drop, but do expect some kind of impact on the market next year”, said Nigel Mercer, the immediate past-president of BAAPS. It is being said that there is need for people to take steps forward to address the challenge in hand.
