Shropshire Hospital Trust Hires Jayne Downey as Director of Nursing

In a recent report, Jayne Downey has been confirmed as the director of nursing and governance at the Oswestry based trust. It has been confirmed by Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust now that she will join in the month of March.

While she is all excited to don the new role, she has thoroughly enjoyed working as the head of governance and risk management at North Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust earlier. There are high expectations that she would be able to bring on some positive changes in the working of the trust.

Ms. Downey got promoted to ward manager from staff nurse at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, and later, she was made directorate nurse at Wrightington Hospital. It seems that luck favored the lady as she was promoted as regional manager for the NHS Litigation Authority later.

She has been actively involved in activities conducted in collaboration with other regulatory bodies such as National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and the Care Quality Commission.

Meanwhile, there are reports that an independent group has been made after there are people being roped in from the private, public, voluntary and community sector to make sure that their concerns related with the NHS reforms are being heard. It was on Friday at Sixways stadium in Worcester that the review of the county’s health services was announced.

It is necessary that voices of the members of the Stakeholder Reference Board (SRB) are being heard and the necessary corrective measures are being taken. Chaired by Professor Rod Griffiths, former director of public health for the West Midlands, the SRB would have representative from the Health and Wellbeing Board, Healthwatch, Local Involvement Network, the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, the University of Worcester, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Worcestershire Association of Voluntary Organisations in Community Care and Community First.
