In a recent report, it has been revealed that Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa is going to become the chairman of the Democratic Party for the upcoming national convention that is going to be held in Charlotte, N. C.

It was revealed by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee that this step shall be taken before the onset of the convention to be held in September. This new role to be played by Villaraigosa will definitely put some special light on him on a national front. This shall be done in the national convention where it is expected that the democrats might put across nominations in favor of Barrack Obama for a second term.

It was in the year 2005, that Villaraigosa was made the mayor for the first time. He was re-elected in the year 2009. This shall be a positive opportunity for him to display his worth for the party. It would also mean displaying his academic worth, so that people can understand him better and decide accordingly.

It was further reported by a local daily that there is going to be an official announcement made about the same in the time to come.
