John Glenn Retires, It’s Time to Pack off Now

John Glenn is the man whose name is always resonated like a few others in the world of spaceflight.

He is the moral man for many, but even the astronauts have a soft corner for him. He is the man who led the country's charge into orbit during his Project Mercury's "clean Marine".

Today, he is all set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his spaceflight that is the charm of his golden life. He is the world's most enduring and charming spaceman and has achieved goals that no other living astronaut has got.

John Glenn is the first American to orbit the Earth. He boarded this ship of his life on 7 on Feb. 20, 1962. Today he is the oldest person to fly in space. He was 77 years old when he discovered a shuttle in 1998. He has been a U. S. senator for four terms and has been considered as one-time presidential candidate. He is the namesake of a NASA center today and is the God for a university's school of public affairs.

This great man has turned 90 now. He along with his wife who is 92 years old resides in Columbus, Ohio. Recently, it has come into notice that he has given up flying now and has also sell off his twin-engine Beechcraft Baron. Glenn and his wife had knee replacements last year and therefore now hopping up on a wing to climb aboard the plane is a tough job for Glenn.

As shared by Glenn: "We decided it was time to pack it in. Besides, my goal was to fly the plane until 90, and I did that. I've been very fortunate to have a lot of great experiences in my life, and I'm thankful for them. So I don't see myself as being envious”.
