It has been 50 years now, since John Glenn from Ohio had taken a trip to the space, which scheduled him to go around the earth, 3 times. It was one of the largest successful missions of the U. S. space department. Not only did it add a glorious chapter in the history of space programs, it also tended to inspire so many people in the country.

The NASA has witnessed a number of cutbacks in the recent times, and even the manned missions previously taken part by the Americans are now sidelined, and other nations are coming forward and taking lead in the matter. In the past, the country had enough funds and enough expertise to go ahead with the planned missions. Now, the hitch is that the entire world is going through a tough economical time. This probably is having an ill effect on the way things are supposed to go at the missions.

Glenn was one of the earliest pioneers to the legendary space programs by the country. It was the time when everyone was a lot excited about space missions and wanted to explore more and more.

The time certainly is different now, and the government needs to draw strategic plans for going ahead with the proposed missions. This is because the funds of the country need to suffice other areas of government as well, and not only the space mission.

Glen, who is now 90-years-old, has had a major contribution in the space missions of the country. There is need for the government and the space societies to join hands and become a co-relational workforce, which will tend to help in the further development of space oriented missions in the time to come. It will help in the overall development of the country and be of aid to the world.
