International Robotic Competition Organized for High School Students

The sporting event hosted by an organization known as FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) will have its qualifying round of Washington DC Regional is in late April this year. This competition is basically for designing and building robots by the high school students. These robots will compete in the sports events organized by FIRST.

This competition is organized with the objective of bringing in curiosity among students for science and provides them with an in-hand live experience of their experiments. In this year's international competition, more than 50,000 high school students are participating. The teams are from all around the world like from Australia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brazil, Britain, Canada, Chile, China, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Israel, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and Turkey and United States.

A team member of Thunderbolts team from Israel Shaked Keidar said that this competition is also a cooperation in which his team has developed a strong bond with a US team. Referring to the area where robots tweak during the matches, Keidar added, "We hosted them, so this year we met up with them right here in the pit next to us. They're helping us, and we really love them".
