New Life for Neymar Jr. in France
Interesting things are happening in France this week. Neymar is set to leave Barcelona for a fee of 198 million pounds. By the time Neymar joins Paris St. Germain, a Paris based football club, he will be the most expensive footballer in the whole universe. He will also become the best-paid footballer in the world earning 775,000 pounds every week. This means that Neymar will earn an annual salary of 40 million pounds. The BBC reported that Barcelona is only interested in the deal if the French club will meet the player’s release clause and pay the 198 million in full. If Neymar signs a five-year deal, the Paris club will have spent over 400 million pounds on the player.
Early this week, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde gave the Brazilian permission not to train and sort his future with Paris St. Germain. This is why he arrived at the club’s training ground on Wednesday accompanied by his father and two friends. He told his Barcelona teammates that he wanted to leave. At the same time, it has been reported that Barcelona is willing to take the French club into a Financial Fair Play Court on the way that the deal is being conducted. Barcelona said that they had alerted Nasser Al-Khelaifi about the issue. Nasser is the current president of Paris St. Germain.
With the proposed move to France, the Forbes noted that Neymar Jr. is the only player on this planet to make more money from off-field endorsements compared with what he was earning at Barcelona. He is under sponsorship with big brands such as Beats by Dre, Panasonic, Gillette and Nike. When all his earnings from these endeavors are added, they amount to 22 million pounds. He makes 11 million pounds with his current contract at Barcelona.
When the deal with Paris St. Germain is over, Neymar will be earning more than Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo combined. He will also overtake Carlos Tevez as the best earner. At the moment, Tevez makes 615,000 pounds every week with the Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua. Messi who was his teammate at Barcelona said that it was an honor to have played with him. The two alongside Luis Suarez from Uruguay formed a formidable attack and won everything there is to win at club level. Neymar joins a French club with the motto Dream Bigger. As for Barcelona, it’s the end of the MSN strike force.
