Worm effects Twitter users

A Norwegian programmer designed a computer worm to highlight security vulnerabilities in social micro blogging site, Twitter and the worm affect a number of users causing multiple pop ups and links to pornographic sites.

Twitter said that it had fixed eh flaw which was exploited by Norwegian programmer Magnus Holm. He announced his worn through a tweek and later said other serious hackers are using his code to attack Twitter users.

He expressed that his was not to harm any user but only to highlight the flaw but others used his code to launch attacks including sending links to pornographic sites.

The hackers used a flaw in programming language, Javascript. The messages used the code "onmouseover" which directs users to the links when the cursor is moved over it. The worm only affected the older version of the site.
